A Barnett Shale Operator recently turned to HST™ to try and break down a zone that could not be hydraulically fractured post perforating. The HST™ system was provided by Reliance Technology Specialists and deployed on coiled tubing. The well was subsequently frac’d with some of the lowest breakdown pressures seen in the area and more than typical volume was pumped.
Horizontal drilling continues to climb in the US
With US land activity continuing to climb, a continued shift within that increase can easily be overlooked. Horizontal drilling as a percentage of overall drilling activity is continuing to climb as well.
Long laterals can be difficult to treat and often result in wells that are underperforming. Whether open hole or perforated cased hole, the HST™ and P2™ systems can be a valuable tool to effectively treat the entire sections desired.
